Her passion for ministry with those in the first third of life began through her own experiences of living in an intentional Christian community prior to her senior year of high school through Theological Education with Youth. This led her to spend summers during college at an inner-city day camp in Philadelphia and Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Florida.
Sandy is currently a Master of Theology student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota in the area of Pastoral Theology and Ministry. She has also received a Master of Arts in Children, Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Parish Youth Leadership from Roanoke College in Southwest Virginia. Her current interestes include Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Beloved Community and Dietrich Bonhoefer's sanctorum communio.
Sandy finds glimpses of home in Philadelphia, Key West and now the Twin Cities. She considers herself a crayon connoisseur, struggling vegetarian, and amateur artist. She has been known to be most passionate in conversations revolving around ministry with those in the first third of life, street art, Penn State Football, the color magenta, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
She is quickly becoming a twenty-something quilter, while learning to sew through trial and error. She hopes to one day study in South Africa and see equality for all people.
